Ohio University has apologized to Ohio State and its fans for the incident at Ohio State's Stadium.
The student who was dressed in the Bobcat costume has been banned from any further affiliation with Ohio athletics.
In several home videos on the Internet, the Bobcat can be seen stalking Brutus Buckeye and running out on the field to ambush the unsuspecting mascot with a flying tackle.
After a brief tussle, the Bobcat hides in the Ohio State cheerleader formation and attacks the Buckeye in the end zone.
The crowd boos as the mascots fight in front of a line of Ohio State players kneeling in prayer.
A person then breaks up the brawl.
An e-mail sent by Ohio's assistant athletic director for media relations, Jason Corriher, said the department does not condone such behavior and regretted the negative effect of the mascot's actions on the relationship between the two schools.
