The Philadelphia Eagles’ Michael Vick tells reporters once he’s in the wildcat offensive, he will be “Superman.”
Vick spoke with reporters for about 17 minutes at the NovaCare complex on Wednesday.
Among the highlights were Vick calling himself the “Wildcat Originator.”
He also said that “while Superman may not be ready to return right now, he will in the future.”
By 'Superman,' Vick was referring to himself.
The former Atlanta Falcons star said the Eagles’ version of the wildcat will need to feature a lot of passing – something lacking in last week’s Wildcat 1.0 version used against the New Orleans Saints.
“You can’t just be one-dimensional in the Wildcat,” he said. “You have to create that balance so the opposition does not know exactly what you’re going to do. It’s going to be critical. It has to be 50-50, 60-40, 70-30. You have to mix it up. That’s been key.”
Eagles head coach Andy Reid wouldn’t comment on how Vick will be used – or even if Vick will play.
But with Donovan McNabb recovering from a broken rib, Vick will certainly be at the center of the Eagles’ game plan against the woeful Kansas City Chiefs.
