Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid says he may make a trade before Tuesday's 4 p.m. deadline, which would be a first during his Eagles' career.

The Eagles head coach also says Jason Peters will play against the Skins next week, but another key player could be out.
In one of the last questions of a Monday press conference, a reporter asked Reid if the Eagles would make a trade.
"We are keeping our eyes open." Reid said. "We are looking."
It was unusual comment from Reid, who has never commented about the trade deadline in recent years. And the Eagles have not made a major October trade in 10 years.
In fact, the last Eagles trade in recent memory after August was the acquisition of tight end Luther Broughton in 1999 in early September.
The team has two possible trade chips: receiver Reggie Brown and quarterback Michael Vick.
The reason for a trade could by a an injury to linebacker Omar Gaither.
Gaither is out with a foot sprain and is undergoing more medical tests.
Jeremiah Trotter has not been strong in his comeback from retirement, and the Eagles only have rookie Moise Fokou as a backup.
Reid had few excuses for the Eagles’ humiliation in Oakland.
“Any time a team blocks and tackles better than you, they will win the game,” a solemn Reid said on Monday.
“There were fundamental breakdowns,” Reid said. “There weren’t a lot of bright spots.”
Reid also said he should have run the ball more than 14 times against Oakland.
The team will have Peters, all-pro tackle, back for the Washington Redskins next Monday night, Reid said. Peters has a knee contusion and ankle injury, but Reid expects Peters to practice and play.
Victor Abiamiri also has knee sprain, and is day to day. Reid didn’t know if Abiamiri can practice this week.
Reid said the team would not seek veteran offensive line help but he also would not commit to Todd Herremans playing against Washington. He also would not commit to playing Stacy Andrews more.
The Eagles will be playing a desperate Redskins team with a
tough defensive line.
