Steve Spagnuolo will be the defensive coordinator of the New Orleans Saints, and not the Philadelphia Eagles.
Jay Glazer from Fox Sports says Spagnuolo will accept a job offer from Sean Payton to run the defense for one of the Eagles’ main obstacles to the NFC title
Spagnuolo is a protégé of the late Jim Johnson, who ran the Eagles defense for much of the Andy Reid era.
The moves likely means that Juan Castillo will remain as the Eagles’ defensive coordinator.
Castillo and the Eagles defense struggled until December, when the Eagles posted a winning streak against team that didn’t make the playoffs.
