Wounded Eagles Nip Redskins, 27-24

Donovan McNabb led a late Eagles rally as the Birds edged Washington, 27-24, at the Linc.

The Eagles had to score 10 points late in the game to get by an inspired Redskins team that led for most of the game

David Akers kicked a field goal just after the two-minute warning for the game winner, after McNabb drove the Eagles into scoring position.

The Eagles also lost wide receiver DeSean Jackson and defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley with injuries.

Jackson left with head and neck injuries when he was hit on a catch late in the third quarter. Bunkley hurt his left ankle in the second half.

The Eagles trailed 24-16 in the fourth quarter when McNabb took the Eagles on an 90-yard drive capped by a 1-yard Eldra Buckley run.

A two-point conversion tied the game at 24-24.

The Eagles then stopped the Redskins on four plays and McNabb took the Eagles 80 yards for the game-winning field goal.

The Eagles (7-4) go to Atlanta next week for a game that could have big playoff implications.
