PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Phillies' Chase Utley is expected back in the starting lineup tomorrow, as the Phils play a huge series with the Giants.
The Phillies and Giants are tied for a wild card playoff spot and the Phils trail the Braves by two games in the National League East.
Utley went 0-3 in his rehab assignment in Clearwater on Sunday and will play today for the Single A Phillies farm club. Then, he is expected to fly to Philadelphia on Tuesday.
Ryan Howard is also healing from the ankle injury. He could join the team as early as Tuesday. But Howard also has some swelling in his ankle.
The Phillies kept pace with the Atlanta Braves and are in a tie with the San Francisco Giants for the wildcard spot with a win last night over the Mets .
Shane Victorino, who recently came back from an injury, got three hits on the night, including one that scored Jimmy Rollins.
The Phillies had just enough offense, and Kyle Kendrick pitched into the seventh. The Phillies won 3-1.
They're off Monday night before the Giants come to town. The Braves host the Dodgers for one more tonight in Atlanta.
