PHILADELPHIA - The Los Angeles Lakers say head coach Mike Brown was suspended Monday for one game and fined over an incident that occurred during Saturday's game against the Utah Jazz.
According to the Lakers' website, the suspension and $25,000 fine were handed down by Stu Jackson, the NBA's executive vice president of basketball operations.
Brown apparently made contact with a referee and failed to leave the court "in a timely manner" after being ejected in the fourth quarter of the Lakers' 96-87 loss to the Utah Jazz in Salt Lake City.
The Lakers said Brown will serve his suspension Monday night when his team plays the 76ers at Wells Fargo Center.
