PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia Flyers fans using Facebook plan to mob the Chicago Blackhawks tonight on their way from their hotel to the game in South Philadelphia.
An "orange and black bike mob" plans to follow their bus all the way to the Wachovia Center, using bicycles.
Organizers -- who are discussing their plans on Facebook , Twitter and this blog page -- say they hope that everywhere the Blackhawks look they'll see Flyers fans on bikes in their best orange and black.
Hopefully, the incident won't become hostile.
Several years ago, local TV stations accidentally told viewers where Tampa Bay was staying before the NFC title game with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Fans mobbed Tampa players, but to no avail, as the Eagles lost 27-10.
Flyers fever has hit Philadelphia hard.
On Thursday, Fox 29 had a Philadelphia area priest and nun who were organizing prayers for the Flyers to win the Stanley Cup.
Father Mike Marrone South Philly is working in Havertown, and he said the Flyers may get some help from above to stay in the Stanley Cup finals.
“It is a great thing to see all the pride and enthusiasm. It reminds you of going back to 1987 and back to the Broad Street Bullies,” he said.
“We pray for everybody (on the Flyers),” he said. “God is not going to let us down.”
