Former Philadelphia Phillies closer Brad Lidge will pitch for the rival team down I-95, the Washington Nationals.
The Nationals agreed to terms on a one-year deal with Lidge, who got a buyout of $1.5 million after the Phillies didn't to exercise an option.
Lidge was one of many heroes in the Phillies World Series season of 2008.
Now, he will be reunited with Jayson Werth, who has been a major disappointment with the Nationals after signing a huge contract last season.
Last season, the 35-year-old Lidge finished 0-2 with a 1.40 ERA in limited action.
But his velocity has slowed considerably after years of injuries and is now seen as a short-term, situational reliever at best.
