Fox Sports Ken Rosenthal has confirmed that Jimmy Rollins has signed a three-year deal to return to the Philadelphia Phillies.
The deal includes an optional fourth year, Rosenthal said on his Twitter account .
Rollins will get $11 million per season under the deal.
Rollins, 33, has spent his entire 12-season career with the Phillies, who picked him in the second round of the 1996 draft.
The veteran shortstop is a former MVP and Gold Glove winner who was a key leader on the Phillies' World Series title team in 2008.
Rollins was a free agent who was seeking a five-year contract.
The signing leaves the Phillies will few other roster spots to fill, unless a current starter is traded.
The Phillies had not confirmed the deal as of Saturday afternoon, but multiple outlets in addition to Fox reported the signing.
