Philadelphia Phillies outfielders Hunter Pence agreed to a one-year contract with the team, Assistant General Manager Scott Proefrock announced on Friday.

Pence will earn $10.4 million and his contract includes award bonuses. He had been eligible for salary arbitration.

Pence, 28, hit .314 with 22 home runs and a career-high 97 RBI in 154 games between the Houston Astros and Phillies last season.

Pence was a key acquisition for the Phillies during the 2011 pennant run and was the team's best hitter after he arrived in Philadelphia.
