Hip Hop has retired and three mascot candidates flunked a fan vote. So is the 1980s Sixers mascot Big Shot on his way back to Philadelphia?
It could happen, as reports on Monday said that Sixers' owners Adam Aron was polling followers on Twitter about bring back Big Shot.
It’s unknown if Aron wants the former mascot back for a guest appearance or a full-time job.

His whereabouts have been unknown for more than a decade, since the team's previous owners brought in Hip Hop to go with the Allen Iverson-era image of the Sixers.
But the Sixers have returned to their blue-collar winning ways and what would be better than a big blue mascot who looks like a distant relative of the Phillie Phanatic.
After a much-promoted online vote in early December, the Sixers never announced which of three choices won after Hip Hop was banished by new ownership.
The three choices were a Moose, a Dog and a giant Ben Franklin in a muscle shirt.
The notoriously fickle Philadelphia sports fans were not amused and a barrage of online criticism was unleashed - along with a movement to bring the team's 1980s mascot - Big Shot - out of retirement.
Aron tweeted out on January 2nd that the team was taking its time on the mascot choice.
Big Shot has been in seclusion since the 1990s and out of the mascot limelight.
