With the controversy brewing in Lower Merion over the school district's use of laptop cameras, some people are curious how school officials did it.
Anthony W. Mongeluzo is a computer expert with Pro Computer Service. He explained on "Good Day" activating a webcam is very easy. Mongeluzo said someone just needs to issue a remote command. "It's a computer, it can do what you want as long as it's programmed."
Mongeluzo explained many people believe they are protected if they simply disconnect from the internet, but that is not the case. "Depending on how it's programmed, they can dump the video to the computer and then the next time you connect it can send it right over." Mongeluzo said that is not what officials in Lower Merion did, but it is possible to do technically.
