It's a tough job market out there, but there are things you can do to make yourself stand out.
Ford Myers is the author of "Get The Job You Want." He shared some of his job hunting tips on "Good Day." Myers said first, you must know your value and be able to articulate that information to potential employers. We all know networking is important. But Myers says it is critical to increase your network of contacts and increase your contact database. Myers says people not working in your field can be valuable. "Everywhere you go let people know what you are doing."
Myers says seminars and getting more education in your field can be helpful if you are job hunting. And when you are lucky enough to get that interview you must be prepared. Myers says to do your homework before the interview. Employers also want to know what you can do for them. Myers says it's important to lay-out exactly what results you can give as soon as you are hired.
Finally. Myers said job hunters need to keep their documents constantly updated.
