Joe Murray: Unemployment Numbers

Unemployment in the United States has hit 10.2-percent. The last time unemployment was that high was September 1982.

Joe Murray is with First Financial Group. He told Jenn and Mike it took about ten-months for recovery to kick-in in the early 80's. Murray predicts it will take longer this time.

There are about 154-million people out of work right now in the U.S. That's compared to 110-million in 1982. Murray explained as employers get by with less workers there is less incentive to bring more people back to the work place.

Murray said another big difference is that Americans are saving less and are accruing more debt compared to the early 80's.
