With the holidays around the corner, some people are scrambling to make sure they get Thanksgiving off.
But in many industries someone has to work. Attorney Amy Feldman told "Good Day" employees can be forced to work and they don't have to receive extra pay, unless the day pushes them over their 40-hour week.
The holidays can also bring holiday accidents that require filing an insurance claim. Amy says unless you do something intentional you should be covered. Experts estimate holiday accidents cause about $990-million worth of insurance claims. Most are for fires between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
If you are entertaining be careful about overserving your guests. In New Jersey, you can be held liable for "social host liability." That means if you serve alcohol to someone who is visibly drunk and they go out into the community you are liable.
