PHILADELPHIA - We're going to have some excessive heat early in the season as we unofficially kick off summer on Memorial Day Weekend, FOX 29's Sue Serio said.
We're expecting the heat index to be near 100 from Saturday through perhaps even Tuesday.
"It's definitely an air-conditioner kind of weekend and a very early start to getting heat waves. We had actually five heat waves last year, in 2011," Serio said.
With all of the fog around Friday morning, it was drizzling in some places even where there was no rain on radar. Temperatures were already in the upper-60s.
We'll get to a high of 83 today with continued humid conditions and a possible thunderstorm.
The heat wave could start Saturday if we go a few degrees above our forecast high of 88.
Sunday and Monday look hot and humid with highs of 90 both days. Tuesday still looks humid with a high of 89, and so does Wednesday, when we expect to dip a little to 85.
There's a chance of pop-up thunderstorms throughout this stretch.
The early call for Thursday, warm, dry and 80 degrees.
