The snow totals are in and Philadelphia has a record December snowstorm total after a blizzard hits much of the Fox 29 viewing area. Philadelphia International Airport got almost 23 inches of snow!

The NWS official total at Philadelphia International Airport is 22.9 inches. The previous record for the city of Philadelphia in December was 21 inches set back in 1909.

And Philadelphia didn't get the most snow in our area.
The NWS says that a total of 15 official weather stations had more than 20 inches of snow.
Atco, N.J., Medford, N.J., and Newport, N.J., had 24 inches of snow in one day.
Delaware County had the most snow in the Pennsylvania suburbs, while parts of the New Jersey shore and the Lehigh Valley has less than five inches.
It looks like most of this snow won't be going anywhere until Christmas, as temperatures will stay at or below freezing until midweek.
The official NWS Winter Storm Warning ended 6 a.m. Sunday for areas south of the Lehigh Valley.
Now, the digout begins, as businesses try to stay open and even the Eagles will have to fight to get the Linc ready for the 49ers game at 4:15 p.m.
For Sunday, we just see cold temperatures in the high 20s, so snow removal could be difficult in areas with large amounts of stockpiled snow.
Airport, Roads, Mass Transit Affected
Mass transit officials are urging people in areas with the the most snow to stay off the roads.
The city of Philadelphia also declared a snow emergency and emergency parking rules are in place.
Philadelphia mayor Michael Nutter also told Fox 29 late Saturday night that city workers were doing their best to clear roadways, but had a tough task on their hands.
“It will be a tough fight,” Nutter said.
The state of Delaware has declared a state of emergency for
northern Delaware. Only essential travel will be allowed in
northern Delaware.
Airport officials in Philadelphia told Fox 29 that the
majority of flights out of Philadelphia International Airport on
Saturday had been canceled.
Sunday may pose more problems for travelers as crews try to
clear off runways.
Many stores, businesses and public facilities closed early on
Saturday and will open late on Sunday.
Nearly 100 closings for events were reported to the Fox 29
newsroom.
