(MYFOX NATIONAL) – Instead of making straight out-of-pocket donations like Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Gisele Bundchen and Sandra Bullock did, some celebrities are coming up with interesting ways to raise funds for earthquake disaster relief in Haiti.
According to OK! Magazine , Susan Sarandon decided to get folks to have a little fun while giving aid to Haiti this week.
The actress held a star-studded ping pong fundraiser – where models battled it out with celebrities – at SPiN in New York's Gramercy area.
As a club co-owner, Sarandon played host to the event, which saw Victoria's Secret model Selita Ebanks, models Veronica Webb and Hilary Rhoda, Haitian-born hip-hop star Wyclef Jean, Marchesa fashion designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, and "30 Rock" actor Judah Friedlander turn out in support.
Minimum $20 donations were made at the front door and proceeds raised from the bar and silent auction, including fashion items and sports memorabilia, went to the Artists for Peace and Justice Haiti fund .
But ping pong isn't the only game raising money for Haiti this week. According to Poker News Daily , "The Wrestler" actor Mickey Rourke took part in a celebrity poker charity tournament.
And, as InStyle.com reports, loads of Golden Globe attendees offered up their red carpet outfits to a charity auction, including Meryl Streep's Chris March dress, "House" actress Olivia Wilde's Gucci gown, Amy Poehler's Jay Godfrey number and suits worn by Gerard Butler and Josh Brolin.
Meanwhile, in addition to George Clooney's star-studded telethon "Hope for Haiti" on Friday night, according to U.K. newspaper The Sun , Simon Cowell is creating a song for Haiti.
With a request from the British Prime Minister, Cowell is producing a charity single – which will include lyrics from Brit talents Leona Lewis and Susan Boyle – with sales going to aid the earthquake-ravaged country.
