(NewsCore) - A California judge issued an arrest warrant Tuesday for Evi Quaid after she failed to show for a court hearing on felony vandalism charges, the Los Angeles Times reported.
And Santa Barbara Superior Court Judge Donna Geck threatened to do the same for her husband Randy if he does not show up for a Nov. 16 hearing.
The couple face felony charges for allegedly squatting in and vandalizing a home they once owned in Santa Barbara, California, in 1989.
Randy Quaid's lawyer Robert M. Sanger told Geck his client was not in court because a bond imposed on the Hollywood star in Canada does not allow him to leave that country, and that his wife was not in present because the couple were "inseparable."
However the judge ruled in Evi Quaid's case that was not a "legal reason" for her absence, and ordered her arrest.
Following the Quaids' arrest in September they fled to Vancouver and sought refuge status, claiming a group of “star whackers” were plotting to kill them.
The couple have said they believe the same group is behind the deaths of Heath Ledger and David Carradine. Ledger died in 2008 from an apparent drug overdose, while Carradine died last year, from what police said was auto-erotic asphyxiation.
The Quaids were arrested again in October in an affluent Vancouver neighborhood on outstanding US warrants and taken into custody at a detention facility.
They were freed last week from the facility after Evi Quaid received unconditional release because she was determined to be a Canadian citizen and Randy Quaid posted $10,000 bail.
Oscar-nominated Quaid is best-known for his role as Cousin Eddie in the "National Lampoon's Vacation" movies, but he also had supporting roles in "Brokeback Mountain," "Kingpin" and "Independence Day."
