(The Sun) - Amanda Knox was spotted strolling around her old university in Seattle as her life returns to normal after being cleared of murdering British student Meredith Kercher.

The American, 24, listened to music on her headphones as she visited the Washington University campus. She was also seen cycling, chatting on the phone and shopping in her home city.

Knox returned to Seattle in October after being freed on appeal after four years in jail in Italy.

The former exchange student is tipped to get more than £600,000 ($942,480) for her memoirs after she charmed publishers in the US.

They were impressed with her "soft-spoken, smart and almost scholarly" manner as she vowed to tell all about her arrest and imprisonment over the murder of her roommate.

Her book is based on diaries she wrote in jail.

"It'll be a bestseller, and of course there are TV and film rights to the story -- and that makes it very attractive," a source said.

But some publishers are steering clear, as doubts linger over Knox's version of events. Her conviction for slander was upheld by a court in Perugia last year after she falsely accused bar owner Patrick Lumumba, 40, of killing Kercher, from Coulsdon, southeastern England, in 2007. And Tuesday, Italian prosecutors filed an appeal against her murder acquittal.

"It's a huge gamble," one publisher said.
