New Trial Denied for Woman in Sex-for-Tix Case

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - A judge has denied a new trial for a Philadelphia woman convicted of attempted prostitution for sending topless photos to an undercover police officer and offering sex in exchange for World Series tickets.

A Bucks County jury in March convicted 44-year-old Susan Finkelstein of trying to swap sex for tickets to a Philadelphia Phillies-New York Yankees championship game last fall.

Judge Albert Cepparulo on Friday turned down her request for a mistrial.

Finkelstein says she intended to flirt with whomever answered her Craigslist ad describing herself as a buxom blonde in desperate need of tickets. But she says she never offered sexual favors as part of the deal.

Finkelstein is scheduled to be sentenced Thursday. The charge carries a maximum sentence of one year in prison.
