Spanish Police Bust Male Prostitution Ring

(AFP) - Spanish police said Tuesday they had busted a male prostitution ring and arrested 14 pimps accused of offering sexual services and drugs to clients across the country.

The first gay prostitution network ever dismantled in Spain was made up of men recruited in Brazil, police said.

Organizers lied to them about their working conditions in Spain and purchased flight tickets with stolen credit cards, they said.

Pimps plied the prostitutes and their clients with cocaine, cannabis, Viagra and poppers, a drug used for sexual enhancement.

The mastermind of the ring, who lives in the Spanish island of Mallorca, sent the prostitutes to work in brothels all across the country and publicized its activities by placing classifieds in newspapers and on websites.
