THE BRIDE: Jenny, 26, an assistant editor at The Knot
THE GROOM: Kyle, 27, an orthopedic physician assistant
THE DATE: August 7
Jenny and Kyle envisioned a low-key, not-too-formal wedding with a classic look, but it was important to keep the planning process as simple as possible. The answer? Lots of carefully crafted homemade details, from Jenny's hairpiece to the tissue paper bouquets.
The Aisle Decor
Jenny's sister made the chair decorations out of fabric scraps. They were sewn to navy ribbon and hung over the chairs.
The Ceremony
Jenny and Kyle chose a canopy of trees near the 18th hole of the golf course for their ceremony location. Luckily, the weather turned out beautifully: not too hot, with a slight breeze, which is rare for August in Nebraska.
The Bouquets
Jenny recruited her twin sister and maid of honor to help create these tissue paper bouquets for herself and her five bridesmaids. "I liked the idea of carrying a handcrafted bouquet that I'd made myself," Jenny says.
The Centerpieces
Jenny chose vertical arrangements of yellow snapdragons to add height to some of the dinner tables. Single yellow spider mums were scattered around all the centerpieces.
