Claudia Gomez first caught the news bug as a young girl. Even before she kissed her father hello as he returned home from work, she would grab his copy of the New York Daily News and read it cover to cover.

Her career kicked into gear soon after college, while working as a production assistant at KRON-TV in San Francisco. Claudia was riding a public bus home from work one afternoon when fate intervened. As the bus crossed the Bay Bridge, the Loma Prieta earthquake struck, stranding Claudia and the other passengers on the bridge. When word reached them that the bridge was collapsing, they all made a run for it. She returned to KRON and gave a first-hand account of her experience. The next night, Larry King interviewed her live on his show. During that interview, he mentioned that Claudia was an aspiring journalist (a comment for which she is forever grateful). Within a few days, KTLA-TV in Los Angeles called and offered her a job.

Claudia spent five years as a writer for KTLA's "Ten O'Clock News." During that time, her bosses let her try her hand at reporting. Her very first report, an account of vigilantes in the L.A. riots, received an EMMY nomination.

Claudia then moved to Reno, Nevada, to hone her reporting skills for two years. She moved to Sacramento, CA, in 1997 to report for the morning show "Good Day Sacramento."

In May, 2001, a sleep-deprived Claudia moved across the country to become a general assignment reporter for WTXF-FOX 29's "Ten O'Clock News."
