Lawyer For Alleged Sandusky Victim Talks

Posted:

Former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky was behind bars this morning when an attorney for one of the alleged victims spoke to Fox 29.

Attorney Tom Kline told Mike and Sheinelle that the focus of the Preliminary Hearing is the conduct of Sandusky, not of Penn State.

He did stress that going forward, he would like to find out how this alleged abuse was allowed to continue over the course of a few decades.

Jerry Sandusky posted bail following this interview.  He is due in court for that prelim on December 13.

The key points are that the re-arrest and Preliminary hearing are aimed at getting Sandusky off the street, that the criminal and civil process overlap and that testimony will be taken of the victims next week, that the focus of this hearing is Sandusky's conduct (not Penn State), that the testimony of the victims have striking similarities in terms of the corrosive and abusive pattern of conduct over a long period of time, and that, while Sandusky made it happen, higher up Penn State officials allowed it to happen. Also, it is important to talk about the need to protect the victims here who are largely young men leading otherwise productive lives, who are now thrown into this tumult and turmoil.
