Drinking Four Loko Sickens Students

Have you heard about these new canned drinks mixing alcohol and caffeine?

College students across the country have landed in the hospital because of them. And now it has happened to a handful of local students.

Saint Joseph's University has confirmed to Philly.com that a handful of students were hospitalized after drinking Four Loko.

It's a fruit flavored, caffeinated malt liquor drink that has the same amount of liquor as three or more beers and as much caffeine as several cups of coffee.

The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board recently asked 17,000 licensed businesses, distributors and wholesalers to take the beverage off the shelf until the FDA can finish its investigation.

Dr. Mike Cirigliano talked about this Friday morning on "Good Day," and you'll want to hear what he had to say. Watch for the video to be posted soon here: The Dr. Mike Page.
