How honest are people in Philadelphia? The folks at Honest Tea wanted to know.
So, here is what they did. They set up an unmanned store Tuesday near Independence Mall. It was on the honor system – take a bottle, place a buck in the box.
The company conducted the same social experiment in 11 other cities across the country to find out which city has the most honest people.
Late Wednesday morning, Honest Tea released the results. They said Philly was found to be 96 percent honest. That placed the "City of Brotherly Love" behind Chicago (99%), Boston (97%), Seattle (97%) and Dallas (97%), in a tie with Atlanta (96%), but ahead of Cincinnati (95%), San Francisco (93%), Miami (92%), Washington, D.C. (91%), Los Angeles (88%) and New York (86%).
On Tuesday morning, while we were still awaiting the results, WMMR-FM radio hosts Preston and Steve joined "Good Day" to talk about how they thought Philadelphia might fare.
