
Tuesday night's win was huge for the Flyers, but it came at a cost.
UPDATE: Gagne, Carter Out For Game 5
Two key players, Simon Gagne and Jeff Carter, were both hurt and could be out for the rest of the season. Sources tell Fox 29 both players broke bones in their foot.
Dr. Mike is a hockey player and was at Tuesday night's playoff game. He explained on "Good Day" both of the injuries are serious. Dr. Mike says Carter broke his navicular bone in his foot. Dr. Mike says Carter already has screws in one foot. He's not sure which foot Carter broke.
Dr. Mike believes that Gagne has a toe fracture. This injury doesn't appear as serious, so Gagne could be back on the ice sooner than Carter. Dr. Mike demonstrated how dangerous it can be if a a player takes a puck to the side of the skate. "If you take a puck to the foot, at a very high velocity, it's going to lead to possible fracrtures."
Dr. Mike says "it's amazing how the human body survives a hockey game."
