A new government study found there is not a connection between vaccines and autism.
Dr. Mike explained on "Good Day" a doctor in England who studied the correlation of the measles, mumps, and rubella vaccine and autism was discovered to be a fraud. "What we're finding is the federal government and most scientists in the community are saying 'hey, there is no link.' " He pointed out there are now vaccines available that do not contain mercury. Mercury is what some people suspect contributes to autism.
Dr. Mike says "there is probably, and there is a strong possibility, that there is genetic component to autism."
Dr. Mike also discussed a new depression study. The study found "there could be an increased risk of cataracts" associated with some antidepressants. Dr. Mike believes there could be a connection with serotonin reactors in the eye. The study found a 15-percent increase.
Dr. Mike also talked about some findings of a sex study. "As you get older you can expect in your 30's to have sex until about 70 if you are a man. And 65 if you're a woman." The lower age for women is attributed to not having a partner as they get older.
