Twice is nice for some serial bank robbers.
He's at it again. The bank robber, whom investigators have dubbed the "Tire Iron" bandit, started off the New Year with a repeat performance from last year.
FBI agents say the "Tire Iron" Bandit robbed the First Merit Bank in Willow Springs on January 3rd. They also say he's the bandit who knocked over this same bank on July 7, 2010.
Investigators say the "Tire Iron" bandit pulled off both robberies the same way. When he demands money from the bank teller, agents say this robber has a tire iron in one hand and a black bag in the other. One question police have about the second robbery is whether or not the suspect used the same getaway car as he did the first time. Last July, witnesses told police they saw the "Tire Iron" bandit drive off in a tan, older model Lincoln or Grand Marquis car with Indiana license plates.
Here is a brief description of what agents say the "Tire Iron" bandit looks like. He is described as a white male, in his 30's, 5' 10" - 6' 0", weighing 250- 260 pounds, and has a goatee. He was last seen wearing a black and white Rastafarian style knit cap, a stripped polo shirt, sunglasses and gloves.
He is considered armed and dangerous.
A ten thousand dollar reward is being offered for any information leading to the "Tire Iron" bandit's arrest.
