Wreckage of Small Plane Recovered in Western Arizona

Posted:

Authorities have recovered the remains of three people killed in the crash of a small plane in west-central Arizona.

The Mohave County Medical Examiner in Lake Havasu City now will be trying to positively identify the victims.

Authorities say the plane was piloted by Lake Havasu City Fire Capt. Don Mesisca. He had flown to Glendale for an Arizona Cardinals football game with his 52-year-old wife Rosie and their 20-year-old son Brett.

The 53-year-old Mesisca was missing Wednesday after he failed to show up for work.

The Civil Air Patrol had been searching for the single-engine Cessna 182 that took off Sunday evening from Glendale and headed to Lake Havasu City.

The plane wreckage was found Wednesday in Mohave County's Rawhide Mountains some 8 miles west of Alamo Lake.
