Father Allegedly Abandons Daughter Over Bad Grade

Updated:
CHELTENHAM, Pa. -

Parents may punish their kids if they get a bad grade or two. But what one father in Montgomery County did landed him in some trouble.

Tuan Huynh, 47, pleaded guilty to child endangerment.

Police say he forced his 16-year-old daughter to pack a bag and get in the car.  They say he dropped her off near the Cheltenham Mall, miles from her house, and forced her to fend for herself – all because she got a bad grade on a calculus test.

Huynh isn't allowed home until he has completed parenting classes. He was also given two years probation and 100 hours of community service.

Prosecutors say he showed no remorse, telling them he can punish his child however he wants.

FOX 29's Stephanie Salvatore has more details in this video report.
