Bill's Goal To Protect Student Athletes

Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

The goal of the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Bill, being signed Wednesday by Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett, is to protect students athletes by putting standards in place to prevent SCA.

The governor was being joined by the parents of Simon Sudman. Simon died as a result of SCA.  After his death, his parents started Simon's Fund, which raises awareness. The organization also provides free heart exams to children in the greater Philadelphia area, sponsors medical research and promotes legislation.

On Wednesday morning, we were joined by State Rep. Mike Vereb and Simon's father, Darren Sudman.
