State police say they have tracked down the tractor-trailer driver responsible for a hit-and-run crash that injured 11 disabled people in a bus on Interstate 95.
The driver was identified as 46-year-old John Jones from North Carolina.
His rig rear-ended the Keystone Quality Transport van Thursday afternoon, sending its occupants to local hospitals. Fortunately, everyone is OK, and they have been released from those hospitals.
Devon Smeltzer was happy to roll out of Hahnemann University Hospital after suffering the pain of Thursday's wild ride on northbound I-95 at Columbus Boulevard.
Smeltzer was one of the 11 special-needs people in the van. Medics walked in accident victims and wheeled in others. The van driver was wearing a neck brace and was rolled in on a stretcher.
State police say Jones was caught about a mile away after racing away from the wreck scene. He wasn't arrested, and as of Thursday night he had not been issued a ticket.
