Fire Burns A Row Of Homes In Coatesville

Posted: Updated:

A four alarm fire on the 600 block of Coates Street in Coatesville in Chester County burned a row of homes.

The fire burned at least 9 homes but 2 homes were vacant. The people who lived in the homes were lucky to get out. No injuries occurred in the fire.

The Red Cross is helping the families with temporary food and shelter.

Firefighters believe that food that was left on the stove was the cause of the fire. But the house that the fire started in was too burned out to tell if the house had smoke detectors.

If you are interested in helping these families, they are accepting donations at the Tabernacle Church located at 819 Coates Street in Coastesville, PA.
