2-Day Prostitution Sweep In A.C. Leads To 28 Arrests

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. -

A weekend prostitution bust in Atlantic City landed 28 people behind bars.

Investigators focusing on Pacific Avenue arrested men and women suspected selling or buying sex. There were also several drug charges.

Police said the operation was conducted to attack both side of the prostitution problem as officers arrested the females who sell their services and the males Johns looking to pay women for their services. Undercover female Police Officers were utilized to pose as prostitutes.

Officers from the Atlantic County Sheriff's Department, the Absecon Police Department and detectives attached to the FBI Lost Innocence Task Force conducted the two-day operation.

Police said in a news release that they "will continue with these types of undercover operations to combat the prostitution problem in Atlantic City."
