Port Richmond children recited the Pledge of Allegiance from memory and got a free water ice at Aldo's on Thursday.
The children did a terrific job as most had learned the pledge in school.
Owner and former Marine Dennis Raffa says this was a great way to honor the troops and for children to participate in an important tribute to our country.
"Every one of the children here knew the Pledge of Allegiance, had fun with it. It's a great day," Raffa said.
He hopes to continue the annual tradition and wants other business to join in.
The Polish American String Band also played as parents and kids danced in the street.
