Bob Brady's Office Vandalized Just Hours After Attempted Burglary

Posted: Updated:

It was a rough day for Congressman Bob Brady. First 3 burglars try to break into his house then hours later in a separate incident a bottle is thrown through the window of his congressional office. So far we're being told the 2 incidents aren't related.

Congressman Robert Brady sounding off after an attempted home invasion that his wife Debra managed to stop.

The 3 masked men cut the cable and phone lines, disarming the alarm system and then lounged in the Brady's lawn furniture Before Mrs. Brady scared them away, leaving behind lots of fingerprints for Philadelphia police to use as evidence.

Then just hours later Brady's congressional office on Broad and Mifflin was vandalized.

Authorities don't believe the incidents are related. Mrs. Brady says she thinks the attempted break-in was just a crime of opportunity.

Back in South Philadelphia witnesses to the vandalism say the man who threw the bottle seemed to have an ax to grind, mumbling before and after he broke the window.

Congressman Brady says capitol police are also investigating. They will be giving him advice on a new security system for his home and he tells me that he's going to install whatever they suggest. But no one is saying that these two incidents are related. It all seems like a bad coincidence.
