DOYLESTOWN, Pa. -

After nearly 10 hours, an armed standoff between a New Jersey cop and police in Doylestown, Bucks County, is over.

Police say 42-year-old Richard Klementovich, of Clifton Township, N.J., surrendered shortly before midnight and was taken into custody.

Klementovich is a member of the Clifton Township Police Department.

He was arraigned early Monday morning by video conference on 13 counts of criminal attempted homicide and one count of reckless endangerment.

The situation began Sunday afternoon at 25 Bittersweet Drive. Police were called to investigate some kind of disturbance at the home, which is located in a development off of Wells Road and Radcliff Drive and belongs to Klementovich's estranged wife.

The officers were immediately met with gunfire, and sporadic exchanges of gunfire could be heard throughout the afternoon.

Police said one officer was struck. That officer was treated at the hospital and released.

At one point, a SWAT vehicle crashed through a fence to take a position directly behind the home where Klementovich has allegedly been firing at police officers.

Two squad cars and an armored vehicle were hit with gunfire.

Some neighbors were evacuated from their homes. Others were ordered to stay inside and to take cover in their basements.

Law enforcement officers from the surrounding area, including the local SWAT team and a SWAT vehicle from Montgomery County responded to the area.

Clifton Police Sgt. Robert Bracken confirmed an officer from his department was involved in the incident, and said officials from his department were on scene in Doylestown.

More than 20 different law enforcement agencies became involved during the incident.

Police have not reported any motive for the incident, and they are still investigating.
