SEPTA Bus Beating Victim Speaks Out

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

It's unbelievable video out of Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood. A woman brutally attacks a passenger on a SEPTA bus seemingly at random.

Bastiaan Slabbers was getting hit by a woman in pink shirt on a SEPTA bus.

The attack lasted a little more than 10 seconds, but Slabbers says it felt much longer.

Police have released a video of the May 31 attack, hoping to catch the woman responsible.

You can see her board the Route 23 bus at Chelten and Germantown. The 5-foot-5-inch woman pushes a girl out of the way to get to Slabbers, unleashing a flurry of punches and slaps.

The 35-year-old journalist says he'd never met or seen the woman before.

Slabbers still rides the same Route 23 bus where he suffered the attack. In fact, he tweeted about it Wednesday, saying lets keep it cool and safe. He admits, he's been scarred.

The transplant from the Netherlands says he'd feel a lot safer if passengers didn't just stand around and would have shown a little brotherly love.

Slabbers is OK. His concern is it could happen to someone else. SEPTA says they're working to make sure all busses have cameras by next year.

If you know the woman in the video, call Northwest Detectives.
