What started at a block party, ended in violence when gunfire erupted in the streets.
It happened around 1:15 on Sunday morning along the 3200 block of Spangler Street in East Falls.
Police say they got multiple phone calls for a man with a gun, and people shot. When they arrived, they found four people wounded.
A 33-year-old man was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene. A 19-year-old man was taken to Temple Hospital after he was shot multiple times. A 38-year-old man was also taken to Temple for a gunshot wound to the leg. A fourth man was driven to Einstein hospital after he was shot in the foot.
Police interviewed witnesses who say they saw a man fleeing the scene, and driving the wrong way down Spangler Street in a black Jeep.
The three men taken to the hospital are in stable condition and expected to recover from their injuries.
Freezing rain changes to rain through the rest of the morning. Many driving challenges. We gradually change to all rain through about noon. Sun makes a brief appearance later on. High in the lower 40s today.
One more wintry system is set to move through our area tomorrow morning. We could get about an inch of snow in Philly...a bit more to our south.
