Sandusky Faces More Than 440 Years In Jail

BELLEFONTE, Pa. -

The fallout continues from 45 guilty verdicts against Jerry Sandusky.

Saturday marked the former Penn State assistant football coach's first full day in a setting he's going to have to get used to.

Sandusky is reportedly on suicide watch at the Centre County Correctional Facility.

Friday night, he was convicted on 45 child sex abuse charges.

The only thing he has to look forward to now is sentencing. He's facing more than 440 years in jail.

On Saturday, the convicted pedophile's wife returned to their home in State College. After standing by her husband's side throughout the scandal that rocked Penn State and the two-week trial, Dottie Sandusky said nothing to reporters.

Cheers erupted Friday night at the Bellefonte courthouse as the prosecutors exited and walked down the stairs. Sandusky's sexual abuse of at least 10 children spanned 15 years.

But it took the jury less than two days to put the pedophile away for the rest of his life.

Reaction has poured in from all over Happy Valley and the nation. Most say justice has been served.

FOX 29's Steve Keeley has more now on that and what lies ahead.

Meanwhile, the charity Sandusky founded is set to begin what may be its last series of youth programs.

The Second Mile officials are waiting for a court to approve a transfer to another nonprofit.

About 200 kids are enrolled for a program that's scheduled to begin on July 15.

Prosecutors said Sandusky used the charity to locate victims. But some former Second Mile campers testified in his defense during the trial.
