MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) -
Minneapolis firefighters were called to the 900 block of East 19th Street on Monday afternoon after fire broke out on the third floor of an apartment building.
Crews arrived at about 4 p.m. to find fire erupting from two windows and extending to other parts of the building.
Witnesses told FOX 9 News they fled the flames, but one woman was taken to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
By 5 p.m., the flames appeared extinguished. It is unclear what started the fire.
The building, which has 19 occupied units, was evacuated. The residents of the first and second floors have since been allowed to return hom. The Red Cross is providing help to all the third-floor tenants.
