Tyrell Baymon had lots to share on his first day back home.
The 4-year-old was nearly killed six weeks ago in front of his grandmother's house in St. Paul.
But on Friday, Tyrell was one healthy ball of energy.
He played catch, rode his tricycle and was mesmerized by the Fox 9 camera crew.
It has been a long road for Tyrell and his mother, Marcia, who was holding her son's hand on the way to his birthday last month when a hit-and-run motorcyclist slammed into the young boy.
"I remember everything," Marica said. "It was the worst day of my life."
Tyrell was sent flying head-first onto the pavement, and suffered a fractured skull and serious brain injury.
There was no guarantee he would survive.
Macia held a 24-hour vigil by his hospital bedside as her boy slowly progressed.
Lots of therapy and trips in a wheelchair would follow.
Now Tyrell is singing his ABCs and counting, and most importantly, he's back in the neighborhood where he belongs.
