Repairs Have Yet To Begin On Closed Bridge

Posted: Updated:

We thought we "got results," after we aired a report last December on the bad condition of a bridge in Darby.

The rail company that owns the bridge, CSX, told FOX 29 it would make the repairs in early spring.

That didn't happen.

And in that time, the condition of the bridge deteriorated so badly that PennDOT told the borough on Friday to shut it down.

Darby Borough Manager Mark Possenti now says the last he heard from PennDOT was that the bridge wouldn't reopen until at least August. And it might be even later than that.

CSX told FOX 29 that repairs might not happen until early fall, but the corporation would not explain why the project keeps getting pushed back.

As you can see, we have been trying to get answers from CSX for months.  Do you want to give it a try?   Send an email to CSX's public relations representative.  His email address is Robert_sullivan@csx.com

FOX 29's Claudia Gomez reported from Darby on Monday night.
