Vineland Homeowners Struggle To Clear Storm Damage

Posted: Updated:
VINELAND, N.J. -

Day four of storm clean up went along stubbornly for several families in Vineland.  Many still have trees crashed through roofs or sitting on top of crushed cars.

"We're trying to see how we can get rid of all this stuff in here," said Carmen Harold of Vineland.  One of her trees smashed the roof on a neighbor's house.

Harold has calls in to her insurance agent but has yet to see them come to her house to evaluate the damage.

She and others in South Jersey are reaching out to any debris removal company they can find. But New Jersey Attorney General Jeffrey Chiesa is warning such businesses not to take advantage of storm victims by gouging them with higher prices.

"During life-threatening emergencies, New Jerseyans should look out for each other – not seek to take advantage of each other," he said.

FOX29 will continue to monitor storm clean up efforts.
