Poisoned Cats Lead To Animal Cruelty Charges

Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

Two women in West Philadelphia are facing animal cruelty charges for pouring ammonia on a trio of stray cats, according to the SPCA.

Police say a neighbor dispute led the women to douse the strays with poison. They were allegedly fed up with a neighbor feeding them.

One of the cats died. Two others are recovering.

A neighbor says the women tried to do the same thing last week, and she was afraid something like this would happen.

"That's ugly. I had warned them. Don't do it any more...and they did it again"

The SPCA tells us the two surviving cats are recovering and should be OK. And when they're better they may be available for adoption.
