Local Gymnast Ebee Price Heading To London Olympics

PHILADELPHIA -

The newest member of the United States Women's Gymnastics team is back in our area.

Elizabeth Price, of Upper Saucon Township, qualified as an alternate in San Jose this past weekend.

Now, "Ebee" is home for a week before heading to Texas for training.

Then, it's off to London and the 2012 Olympic Games.

As you can imagine, she's still sky high after making the team.

"I've got a really great feeling to be able to have the opportunity to go over to London to represent the U.S.A. in the Olympics. It's going to be great," Price said.

The years of hard work are now paying off. She started training as a gymnast when she was just 3-years-old.

Now, she's up to six days a week, 40 hours a week.

But it's all worth while. London is calling.

"In gymnastics, there's always areas to improve, and I'm always willing to get better skills, improve everything, get to higher competitions, and that's what really drove me to get to where I am now," Price said.

FOX 29's Sports Director Tom Sredenschek reported that it's a great story, a great young lady, and she has a great family pushing from behind, as well.
