Driver In Delco Hit-And-Run Never Hit Brakes

SPRINGFIELD, Pa. -

Police in Springfield, Delaware County, are trying to figure out who slammed into a pedestrian on North State Road, then drove off, leaving him for dead.

It happened before dawn on the Fourth of July.

Tommy Quercetti, 28, barely survived. He was in a coma Thursday night with life-threatening head injuries.

Police say the driver never hit the brakes, even after the collision.

Quercetti's family is devastated.

"Everybody does things that are wrong, and I understand that. But to hit someone and leave them on the side of the road is just, I just don't understand how a human being could do that," said Jackie Quercetti, the victim's sister.

The family is offering a reward for any information that will help police find the driver.

Investigators expect to have the vehicle's make and model in the next day or two, based on car parts they found along State Road.

FOX 29's Claudia Gomez has more details in this video report.
